What is microneedling?

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic treatment in which your provider uses a special tool to create tiny, invisible puncture wounds on your skin’s surface. The wounds then activate your skin’s natural healing process, which triggers the production of collagen.

What can I expect during microneedling treatment?

Microneedling will take about an hour. To reduce any discomfort you might experience during your session, your provider applies a numbing cream to your skin. 

After your microneedling session, you may experience some redness at the treatment site. These side effects subside within three to four days. Your provider might also recommend you to stay out of the sun for at least one week following your treatment. 

You may notice an improvement in your skin after your first microneedling session. However, Advance Practice Care LLC recommends three to four treatments for optimal results. 

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling is well-tolerated by most people, and the side effects after treatment are temporary. You may experience some pinkness or scabbing around the treatment area following your microneedling session, but these will fade within a few days.
